Hello and welcome to the start of my journey.
Let me start by saying from the get go that I'm here to share my experiences and the recipes I love.
This is not a place to endorse or condone any one way of living or eating but a place for me to share my experiences in my quest to change the way I think about food and what I eat and hopefully improve my health while occasionally indulging in a treat or two along the way.
It's a place to share the recipes that are a hit with me and more importantly, pass the 'little people' test.
So here's a little bit about me. If it sounds a little bit like you, come along for the ride and lets see where it leads us!
I am Kirsty. Wife and mum of two (affectionally known as 'the little people'). I work four days a week and play mum for the rest, so I'm busy, like crazy busy. I'm not a pre weighed, planned out super organised kinda mum. I suck at that. It goes against every fibre in my being to be planned and organised (and thanks to work I now have the MBT profile to back that up!) But here's the kicker....I have an inflammatory condition that has seen me take cortisone for the last 11 years to keep my body healthy.
It's taken a long time but I'm finally off it and I'd like it to stay that way. It's taken me a while, but I've finally given in to the realisation that what I eat greatly effects how I feel. So instead of a 'yoyo diet' i know I won't sustain I'm trying to make positive changes for good.
I'm throwing out the calorie counter, trying to forget about the scales and giving HEALTHY eating a good old college try.
Oh but did i mention I have the BIGGEST sweet tooth? I'm under no illusion that this is going to be easy. But in the long run, I don't really have a choice. So lets see how this goes. I'm far from perfect and I detest the word elimination, but I'm learning to love the words replace and reduce!
